Most Loved Moisturisers

I actually surprised myself a little when collecting up my moisturisers for this post at just how many I owned. I think having oily-combination skin I sometimes need quite a few depending on how my skin feels like acting on a certain day! A good moisturiser can sort out all ailments and creates a great base for make-up, and I have some here that play a good part in my daytime and evening skincare routines.

Spring Fashion Buys

As much as I profess my love for layers and autumn clothes around the end of summer, it sure it nice to be able to ditch the coats (most of them, anyway!) and pick out a few lighter items. I've treated myself to a few little bits across March, and the charity shops have actually been kind to me recently and I've found a couple cute things from there too.

Avene Soothing Hydrating Serum

Until recently, I'm been a newbie to the brand Avene. I've always spotted them down the aisles of Boots whilst on a scout for new skincare, but I've never even really heard too much about them or their products. I have heard that they're great for more sensitive skintypes, so probably being more oily than anything I've picked other things. I was kindly sent the Soothing Hydrating Serum from Escentual to try out which is a great starter to the brand.

You Beauty Discovery Box - March 2014

You Beauty Discovery Box - £6.95 including delivery

This months You Beauty Discovery Box had a 'Best of British' theme, so lots of fantastic brands including the Body Shop, Crabtree and Evelyn, Paul Mitchell, John Frieda and Rimmel. For those of you who are a little over the beauty box trend and aren't willing to pay around £13 a month for products you're unsure you'll like or be able to use, You Beauty is a fantastic option. You select the two products you'd like (with a couple of extras thrown in), and it costs just £6.95 including delivery, so cheap as chips too!

The Rediscoveries

I'm sure I'm not alone in this, but I've got so many products that the majority end up sitting in my vanity, or bathroom cabinets, unused for months. I also end up getting so comfortable using certain products that others get ignored, so I like to go through everything every couple of months or so and pick out some old favourites I really must start using again.

Lush Wonder Woohoo

Lush's themed collections are inexplicably good. I've been a Lush fan for some years now, but seeing new releases still fills me with the same joy as my first ever purchase! At the moment they have some Easter things out, as well as some for Mothers day, so I couldn't resist popping into store and buying myself one or two, or five, bubble bars, and Wonder Woohoo was the top of my list.

La Roche Posay Biomedic Pigment Control Serum

I'm sad to say that La Roche Posay and myself haven't always been the best of friends. When the Effaclar Duo hype was really taking off I tried it out and experienced some of the worst breakouts of my life, but I have their Effaclar lotion which works quite well for me. I've always wanted to include more exfoliation into my skincare routine, so when I spotted the Biomedic Pigment Control Serum lurking in the clearance section of Boots, I had to give it a go.

Pretty in Pink

I can truly tell Spring is almost with us by when the pinks start re-appearing from the depths of my vanity drawers. I occasionally wear them throughout the year too, but nowhere near as much as the spring and summer months. First comes nails, then the blush, and finally the lips, and it sticks around for quite a while too! Here's the line up of my favourite pinks.

Who Needs High-end?

Whilst some of the blogging world are expressing their love for Nars Creamy Concealer or YSL Touche-Eclat, I'm sticking with what the high street has to offer. A couple of these have been long-serving products, and boy have they served me well. I've recently added a new addition to the bunch too, so I'm now proclaiming for my love for drugstore concealers.

Getting Spring Ready

I'm not sure if it's the same where you are, but the weather in Bolton has been absolutely beautiful for the past week. I'm still not in my summer dresses, but the opaque tights, scarves and coats have been well and truly ditched. I have noticed though that my skin and other little things need some serious improvement before the lovely weather hopefully sticks around for good, so here's my favourites for getting spring ready.

Marc Jacobs Honey

Marc Jacobs fragrances are some of my favourites; they're the most girly, sweet and fruity scents, and of course they come in some of the most beautiful packaging on the market. I own Daisy, I've fallen in love with Lola (that's on my 'to buy' list!) and was recently bought Honey to add to the collection.

L'Oreal Lovin'

I've never really been too obsessed with L'Oreal as a brand. Great haircare, yes, and the occasional pretty lip product that draws me in, but the likes of Bourjois or Revlon have always tipped the drugstore scales for me. That said, when I popped into Boots with the intentions of picking up a few things, I couldn't drag myself away from the stand, and left with a couple new beauties as well as an old favourite.

Bumble & Bumble Deeep

Until recently, I've been a bit of a Bumble & Bumble novice; I've heard nothing but fantastic things about their products, and I've been getting on very well with their thickening hairspray recently, so I couldn't wait to try this out. I'm not actually a serial dye-er, nor have I ever bleached my hair, but I do occasionally leave it a little bit longer than I should to get a cut (I'm currently on about 2 a year!) so they idea of a deep 20 minute masque really appealed to me.

Video: What's in my Bag? 2014 Edition

I mentioned in my latest video that I'd soon be doing an updated what's in my bag video. I got my new bag from New Look a couple weeks ago, so it's the perfect opportunity to update my last post from almost a year ago. I know people are divided on their opinions of these sorts of videos, but I personally love them! I hope you do too so enjoy having a little snoop in my bag!

Weekend Wishlist #3

1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6

01. I've had my eye on this Topshop top for a couple weeks now, but I've not bought it yet. I really love the colour and it's a very 'me' top. I'd wear it with jeans, cigarette trousers or a pencil skirt, and it looks perfect for spring.

An Ode to Face Masks

Since the age of about ten when I started using Montagne Jeunesse at every girls sleepover, I have loved face masks. I know people say stick to 1-2 a week, but I have to seriously restrain myself to keep up with that. Working from home means I can keep a good eye on my skin, and always feel like popping on a face mask, although I do have to be careful to avoid the postman or my neighbours whilst I do! I've got a few favourites that I regularly use and make all the difference to my skin.

Nude It Up

If you'd have told me a few years ago I'd be in a little love affair with nude, I'd probably have laughed in your face. At the age of 19 I used to wear the same bright orange-red lipstick from Rimmel everyday, teamed with some bright nail polish, and thought of nude as something dull and boring with no real point to it. I now see that a good nude lip or nail can look elegant, sleek, and it's an essential part of my beauty collection.

Ciate Dolls House

Ciate are up there with my favourite nail polish brands; the formula's are always fantastic, I love every single colour I've tried, and of course I can't not mention the beautiful packaging too. So I was incredibly eager to try their new Dolls House collection, a set of five pretty pastel shades perfect for spring.

Video: February Favourites

I almost feel a little bad looking at my February favourites, as half of these are new products.. oops! I've been testing out a lot this month (the blog is my excuse!) and I've fallen in love with a whole lot. It's mostly make-up which is surprising as I usually stick to mostly the same things, and a few great body products that have been helping me beat the winter dryness.

The One That Got Away

DRESS: TOPSHOP
COAT: VINTAGE
BAG: VINTAGE
SHOES: TOPSHOP (similar here)
WATCH: VINTAGE

Before you get any funny ideas, I'm not singing Katy Perry, I'm actually referring to this Topshop dress. You know the ones; you see them in store, uhm and ah for ages whether to just buy it, don't, and then next time you go in it's sold out. That happened to me, and then after a good few months of searching I finally managed to find one on ebay in my size! A couple of bids later and a few days wait, it was mine.

The Sunday Post: Five Favourites

It's been a week of a couple new discoveries, and a lot of beautiful products have landed on my doorstep! I've spent the week mostly working and basking in the beautiful sunshine coming through my massive bay window in the living room. I got back into youtube and even shot an outfit post that's coming up next week.

Five favourite things: The Revlon matte balms (I don't think I've worn anything else this week!), Beanies Amaretto almond flavoured coffee, a beautiful bunch of roses and carnations, the new ASOS sunglasses I got this week (even though I haven't even worn them yet), and flicking through the Topshop magazine.

The Everyday Basics

Being part of the beauty blogging community, it's easy to forget about the everyday make-up basics that are such a big part of a beauty regime in favour of reviewing new products. There's quite a few things I use absolutely everytime I apply make-up without fail, but I don't think I've ever even mentioned on this blog, so today's post is all about those forgotten bits that are such a huge part of my make-up bag.
