So, a new sofa might be a bit of an odd Christmas present, but I'm all about that interior life. So much so, that off Kane I even asked for a bunch of new cushions and a rug for the top too. We moved into our home two years ago now, and whilst we bought a couple of new sofas, one we picked up second hand from a BHF furniture store. It suited it's purpose but the covers ripped a couple weeks into having it, and I just wasn't happy with it any more.
We were looking at getting a sofa bed, as we do have three bedrooms but they're taken up with my office and Ada's nursery, and we do sometimes have people to stay who end up building a bed on the floor. We couldn't find any that we really loved and looked nice and comfortable too, so we eventually decided on the IKEA Norsborg. It comes in a range of colours and two types of legs; I loved the lighter birch, rounded legs, and we went with dark grey covers, although I loved the white covers, but they're not at all practical with a kiddo!
In typical IKEA fashion, it does need assembling and arrives in several boxes. It's really easy and simple to do, but something to consider if you want a sofa to arrive good to go. The removeable covers are really practical for me with Ada, and there's little pockets on the sides for remotes and other bits, so there's no searching for them every morning now! It's a bit bigger than my previous sofa too, so there's a ton of room to spread out in the evenings.
I finished it off with a bunch of cushions from Next and Sainsburys, and chucked a shaggy sheepskin rug on the back to add a bit of texture in. What do you think?
