Pretty in Pink

I can truly tell Spring is almost with us by when the pinks start re-appearing from the depths of my vanity drawers. I occasionally wear them throughout the year too, but nowhere near as much as the spring and summer months. First comes nails, then the blush, and finally the lips, and it sticks around for quite a while too! Here's the line up of my favourite pinks.

Lips first, one of my favourites is MAC Speak Louder, a medium fuschia pink with pretty blue undertones. It's a cremesheen finish and applies really well, and although I wouldn't say it's toned down, it is quite a wearable fuschia that I regularly wear throughout the day. Another gorgeous one is in the Rimmel Apocalips form, the shade Stellar. This looks red on some, but on me it's a bright fuschia pink with red undertones. It's a great one for glossy fans, but much longer lasting and with fantastic pigmentation compared to most lipglosses.

For lighter shades, I always pick Rimmel Kate Lasting Finish #16. This is just the perfect light pink for me that doesn't wash my skintone in the slightest, and even though it is light still gives a pretty pop of colour to the lips. Rimmel do fantastic lipsticks for those without much of a budget, they're definitely one of the best from the highstreet. Of course I had to mention Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm stain in Honey, my perfect nudey pink shade that's perfect to pop on on the days you just can't decide which lip colour to choose.

I don't own a huge amount of pink blush, but those I do are some I absolutely love. No7 Natural Blush in Candy Pink is a deeper pink but still with a pop of brightness to it, and gives a great flushed look to the cheeks, although isn't too natural. The pigmentation also isn't fantastic, but still absolutely plenty for my pale skintone! A similar colour but slightly lighter is My Girl 002 from the Dainty Doll range which is such a pretty soft pink with just the teeniest amount of shimmer to give a nice glow. And probably my most reached for, Topshop Flush. This is a cream offering, and boy is this thing pigmented! I have to use a seriously gentle hand to avoid looking like Aunt Sally, but for the most part it leaves a really natural finish behind and lasts throughout most of the day.

Pink is probably one of my favourite shades to wear on my nails, and Models Own offer some great ones. I have Strawberry Shortcake from the scented collection, sadly the range doesn't have the best formula but the colour is just so pretty I always wear it anyway but making sure I use a good top and base coat! A similar one is from the Hypergel collection, just slightly deeper but much better in terms of lasting power. I have a gorgeous glitter from Nailberry, called Pink in the stars. This is such a pretty colour that I usually save for the festive period, but looks gorgeous worn either on an accent nail or perhaps on a night out on every nail.
