Making 2017 Your Year

I'm always kind of torn between writing about a new year; on one hand, if you want to make genuine changes to your life, you need to start now, rather than holding off until a couple weeks time. But I also understand that the start of a new year can genuinely be a motivator for people, so just do you. Whether you're looking to start a new business, grow your existing or boss that blog life in 2017, here's my tips how to make this your year.

1. Get up early.
If you want to grow your business or online life, you need to make the most of all your time. Studies show that us early risers work more productively, have increased memory and better mental health, so make 2017 your year to become a morning person. If you need more help, read my 6 tips here

2. Make a plan.
In the words of my high school english teacher (or Benjamin Franklin, rather!) "failing to plan is planning to fail". Set out clear goals for this year, but make sure they're achievable, or else you'll quickly feel discouraged if things aren't quite working out how you hoped. You can make it over the year, or do month by month, whatever works for you.

3. Get inspired.
The only books I tend to read these days are non-fiction, career based books. Read Girlboss, It's Not How Good You Are, It's How Good You Want To Be, Leave Your Mark, or Mistakes I Made at Work

4. Get your office ready.
I always speak about how important my office space is to me. Before 2017 starts, make sure it's tidy, organised, and full of inspiration. See my 11 Awesome Buys you need in your space.

5. Be your own cheerleader.
Before all my comments got deleted (thanks, Disqus!) my Be Your Own Cheerleader post was my most popular post of the year. Having the confidence to be proud of your achievements and actually speak up about them is so important, so make 2017 your year to be confident, proud and positive.
