Who Needs High-end?

Whilst some of the blogging world are expressing their love for Nars Creamy Concealer or YSL Touche-Eclat, I'm sticking with what the high street has to offer. A couple of these have been long-serving products, and boy have they served me well. I've recently added a new addition to the bunch too, so I'm now proclaiming for my love for drugstore concealers.

My latest addition is Seventeen Phwoarr Paint. Aside from the slightly cringe name, this stuff has some serious power. It's quite thick and not creamy like some of them, so I just get a little bit of this on fingertips (make sure you wash your hands first) and gently tap and blend this into blemishes. Because you can't blend it as well it does leave a slight feeling on the skin but after some powder this mostly disappears. And I can forgive it of that, because it literally covers everything.

And of course, one of everyone's favourites, Collection Lasting Perfection. This is fantastic for me, really creamy and blends in so well to cover every blemish, sign of redness or dark circle. It's a great shade for me too, and with a bit of powder popped on top this sticks around for hours without needing a touch up. I love Rimmel's Wake me up too, although that one is strictly reserved for under the eyes. It gives great coverage and really brightens up under my eye area so well, perfect for the day after any late nights.

What about you, are you a drugstore fan like me or do you prefer your concealers with a slightly higher price tag?

I agree with you completely, when you can get excellent products like this, I don't see the point in spending a fortune on a Nars concealer - a Nars primer is another story... :o) Xx

I really want to get both the Rimmel and the Collection one, but the Seventeen one sounds fab too (: xx

  4. I've been wanting the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer for months but it's constantly sold out! I really like the Rimmel though, I found a good colour match for me (sadly I can't say the same for the Collection one) and I like that it's quite a fluid, brightening formula.

I am slightly addicted to MAC, but love finding a high street makeup bargain, I've heard really good things about the 17 Concealers lately, I really want to give them a try.

  6. I'm loving MAC concealers at the moment and the pro longwear is a great concealer. I've used the Rimmel one which I loved but I find the Collection concealer far too cakey especially for under the eyes.

Yes, I agree. I have been really enjoying my budget friendly concealers. The Seventeen Phwoarr Paint & Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealers are so good. I find the Collection one a little drying on me

  8. There are some great high street things, I agree with you. I'm a fan of the Bourjois lipsticks and Essie nail varnishes. Unfortunately for concealer or foundation I have to go to Mac or Bobbi Brown - the cheaper make up brands only make one or two shades of brown at most and they're often very pink based rather than yellow based. No good at all for me!

If we had these concealers available at the drugstore here in the states I'd probably be in the same boat you are Catherine! Unfortunately though I've only found high end to work for me here since the budget picks just don't cut it :/

  15. I purchased Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer the other day and I am very impressed with it. I suffer with dark under eye circles and this just makes them disappear. It's a great product for the price
