Nude It Up

If you'd have told me a few years ago I'd be in a little love affair with nude, I'd probably have laughed in your face. At the age of 19 I used to wear the same bright orange-red lipstick from Rimmel everyday, teamed with some bright nail polish, and thought of nude as something dull and boring with no real point to it. I now see that a good nude lip or nail can look elegant, sleek, and it's an essential part of my beauty collection.

Starting off with lips, my favourites come in the Revlon Colourburst balm form. I'm still searching for my perfect nude lipstick, but these do a perfectly good job whilst the hunt continues. Honey is a nudey-pink, that's a gorgeous my lips but better shade. It's from the original Revlon Just Bitten Kissable balm stain line, and is incredibly moisturising with the minty scent notorious of the collection. I recently picked up Demure from the latest Revlon lacquer balm range, which is quite similar to Honey, although with more of a sheer, glossy finish.

I almost wept when I heard that my favourite nude polish has been discontinued - okay, I'm exaggerating, but it was still a very sad day, and I've only got enough left in the bottle for a couple more applications. My Fair Lady from Ciate was the most beautiful, light nude colour that just about went with everything and made me feel like a proper lady everytime I wore it, as silly as it sounds. Models Own Utopia is another I've been loving recently, although is more of a grey, mushroom toned polish - it's hard to put your finger on it, but it's a seriously gorgeous shade with a fantastic formula too.

I know nude blush isn't really a thing, not one I've heard of anyway, but when I'm after a more natural look No7 Honey is the one I'm always reaching for. It's quite a dark peach with the slightest hint of brown that just looks oh so natural on my pale skin. It actually helps to contour the face as well as giving a little pop of colour, so perfect for those days when I'm running a little late too!

What are your favourite nudes?
