Aaah Sunday, my favourite day of the week; I don’t know what it is about it, perhaps the lack of expectations, but there’s just something I find so relaxing about it. So I thought I’d put a little post together on how to have the ultimate Sunday! What do you love doing on a Sunday?
START OFF WITH AN AWESOME BREAKFAST/BRUNCH
Breakfast is easily the best meal of the day, there’s just so many options! Pastries, cooked breakfast, yoghurt, granola, fruit, cereals, fruit juice, coffee! Ideally I’d be allowed one of each, but considering it’s Sunday and I’m allowed to treat myself, I’ll probably just have a pastry and some yoghurt with fruit. Orange juice is always a must after my morning coffee, and it’s got some added sophistication now thanks to this gorgeous Dartington Zest Carafe & Glass set I was kindly sent – thank you, Dartington! It’s rare I get anything other than Cbeebies over breakfast, but if you don’t have kiddos, why not stick on Netflix or catch up on your favourite programme with breakfast? Anyone else ridiculously excited for the return of OITNB?!
HAVE A BATH AND A PAMPER
There is literally no Sunday complete that doesn’t involve a big bubble bath, a couple of face masks and half an hours peace. Before I had Ada I’d go for the whole hog, nails painted, hair mask, full body scrub, everything! But hey, I’ll take what I can get these days.
HEAD OUT FOR A COUPLE HOURS
I like popping out for just a couple hours on a Sunday, perhaps with a little trip to the park or a little place near me that sells homemade ice cream and has a couple animals for Ada to coo over. There’s no real plans, no pressure, just a couple hours out in the fresh air.
FRESH FLOWERS & A CANDLE
There’s nothing that lifts my mood more than having fresh flowers and a burning candle around my home. I always make sure I have some in for the weekend, even just a bunch of tulips does the job perfectly.
BLOG & BUSINESS PLAN
My favourite way to wind down on a Sunday evening is with my notebook and diary. I’ll jot down any ideas I’ve got for blog posts, instagram, and make a note of any work that really needs to be done by certain days. It’s a nice way to make sure I start the new week feeling inspired.
