Taking Time Out.

It seems to be a bloggers prerogative to take the occasional little break, and as you can see I’ve done just that recently, having a couple weeks off. I’ve just been feeling a little uninspired and not a great deal of love for my online space recently, and so I’ve been spending all of my spare time tucked up in bed with a good book or the latest episode of Man Men. Teaming up with Direct Blinds, I thought I’d talk through some of my favourite bedroom relaxation tips!

– Keep it clean (you can’t relax with piles of clothes surrounding you)
– Invest in bedding and a good mattress
– Add cosy textiles in rugs, cushions and throw
– Always have a window slightly open
– Buy some nice candles (as if I ever need an excuse!)
– Clear away any clutter
– Decorate in colours you love
– Use lamps to create a softer light
– Keep a beauty drawer in the bedside cabinet for a quick evening pamper

What are your tips for making your bedroom as relaxing as possible?

I bought a new bed and mattress at the beginning of the year, alongside piles of throws and pillows, and it's changed my life! It's such a cosy sanctuary and it's my favourite place to be at the end of a rough day. Recently I've taken the step to ban working on my laptop from my bedroom and it's made quite a difference, as now my bedroom is no longer an office space too x

I found that your first point is definitely key to relaxing for me.
As soon as my room gets messy I get stressed about cleaning it or not having time to clean it, which is definitely not relaxing at all hahaha x

Hahah the candles! I will never need a reason to buy a candle. You've got a great list here, all points totally useful. I especially agree with your first point about "keeping it clean". Amen! You're so right, you can't relax with a big pile of laundry or clutter hanging around. Never though about cracking a window for relaxation, so thank you, I'm going to try that! Fresh air can be the best medicine on a gloomy day.

Hope you had a relaxing time off, it is well deserved, but I can't wait to see more posts though!!

    Much Love!

    Candles forever and always.

And I agree, it's important to take breaks to just get inspired again and re-start fresh 🙂

Totally agree with candles and having a little beauty stash in your bedside table!
