Feeling Uninspired.

I’ve been reading a few posts along the same lines over the last week or so, and Rebecca’s Summer Slump really resonated with me the most. The past few weeks I’ve felt so lethargic, absolutely everything has been such an effort, and I’ve spent far too many days on the sofa infront on the TV than I’d care to admit to. Whereas I have always got such joy from blogging, it’s been something I’ve been forcing out of me recently, and I feel like the content quality has dropped whilst I’m at it. I’m going through a bit of an inspiration-lacking phase, so I thought in an attempt to improve, I’d do a little post on how to feel more inspired on a day-to-day basis.
– watch old films.
– read blogs ( but not so many you just end up stealing post ideas! )
– take a trip.
– visit a little town or village.
– go shopping.
– read a magazine.
– take a break.
– visit a gallery.
– meditate.
– try something new.
– create a vision / moodboard.
– write a bucket list.
– listen to music.
Personally, I’ll be doing a combination of a few, but mostly I’ll be taking a little break. I’m off on a weekend trip away with my Mum to Wales, and in the meantime I’ll be thinking about what direction I really want to take my blog. I’ve always said I’d like it to be a mixture of fashion, interiors, make-up and lifestyle, but recently it’s been 90% make-up and I’m getting a little bored with it. I don’t want to be one of those people who has thousands of products they buy purely to review and never use, it’s wasteful. I’ll be back next week anyway with hopefully better posts!

This is a really good post. I kind of think that I slump in the summer too. Kind of like to opposite of SAD.

Ahh I can very much relate to you right now. I'm also feeling a bit uninspired! My blog has been all about makeup and just recently I decided to shake it up haha. I hope you have a lovely weekend away xx

I hear ya sister. Looks like you've answered your own question, I'd love to see some fashion, interiors, etc on your blog, though I hadn't felt it was stagnating at all on the make up and beauty front….. Sounds like a trip away will refresh your mind and body, I think even seeing a really good shop window, hearing a great piece of music or reading something inspiring can give me a massive shift in attitude…. Good luck! Xxx

Love posts like this – they really do help get people motivated! It's all about taking the time to relax and get your mind in focus! Love the notebook – so pretty! πŸ™‚

I feel the same way, I don't want to be buying things just for the sake of reviewing them. I don't really want to turn blogging into an expensive hobby. I don't read magazines as much now, but I'll definitely try to do it more as it s inspiring.
