5 Inexpensive Ways To Create A Gallery Wall

gallery wall on a budget

One of my favourite ways to brighten up and add a bit of personality to my unusually white decor, is a gallery wall. It can be a bit of a daunting task and it's something that I really like to try and plan out, but sometimes it's the cost of it all that can be the most daunting aspect of it all. So I thought I'd throw together some of my ideas to create an awesome gallery wall on the cheap.

#1. Shop around for prints - Sure, it'd be lovely to have a wall full of beautiful prints from Society 6, but for the majority of us it's simply not possible. Etsy is my favourite place to get prints from; one of the ones I bought for my new desk space cost a quid! What can usually save quite a lot of money too is buying downloadble prints - they cost around £4 or £5 and you can print them off at home.

Some of my favourite Etsy shops to buy prints in are: Henna By Jo, Cosmic Print, Daisy Illustrates,
Bookishly, and Girlvisual.

#2. Get creative - There's no guidelines as to what to include in your gallery wall, and personally I like a good mixture of things. I've framed wallpaper, pretty wrapping paper, cards, and included little mirrors in mine, all that cost a couple of pounds.

#4. Look out for discount codes - There's a some new print stores popping up recently, ones such as Desenio, that are collaborating with bloggers and offering discount codes - a quick google can produce a good 25% off code! (not in any way being sponsored to say this!)

#5. Upcycle frames - I'm personally always happy with mismatched frames, but if you do manage to find a good selection of frames in the charity shops or at a car boot, buy a tin of spray paint and for just a couple of pounds you can have some great matching frames that look a lot more expensive than they actually are.

Do you have any ideas for creating an inexpensive gallery wall?

  1. Love these tips, and absolutely love the Lolita poster! I have to say I definitely prefer mismatched frames (and prints actually) over well organised gallery walls! Thank you for sharing :)
