A Trio of Toners

Toning used to be a step I'd always just miss out in my skincare routine, until a year or so ago when I built up a bit of a collection. Nowadays I have two I use on a daily basis, and another I pull out whenever my skin is looking a little worse for wear. These do go on rotation, but I've been sticking with this little set for the past month or so, and my skin is looking a lot clearer and bright for it.

The Clinique Clarifying Lotion 3 is one I've been using for quite a few months now, and I really like. It's quite gentle, and you can't really notice huge results like you do with chemical exfoliators, but used every day it keeps any major scarring at bay, and especiallly around my chin and jawline where I get hormonal blemishes is looking a lot better for it. It's even meant recently I've been able to drop foundation from my make-up on the really hot days, which I didn't think I'd ever be able to do. As you can see it comes in a huge bottle, and I'm just over a third the way down after using it for 6 months, so definitely worth a little splurge.

La Roche Posay's Effaclar Lotion is a similar idea, and helps with any scarring as well as having salicylic acid in, so I really pull it out when I have a few blemishes. It feels a little bit more drying than the Clinique, hence why I don't use it as much, but if I need some more help than usual it's great to have on hand. Another I've been using pretty much every day since getting in last months Vegan Kind box is Peppy Galore Diva Rosewater Toner. Recently I've been using a lot of rose skincare, so I've been really liking trying this out. It's made with 100% rosewater, and leaves my skin feeling fresh and balanced, and it's perfect for hot summer mornings too.

  1. Hey Catherine! My mum has been using the Clinique one for a couple of years.. but I find it too chemically and same goes for LRP! Do you think I can work with it by using it just a couple of days a week?

  2. I too didn't originally start off with toner but now I can't live without them. Thanks for sharing some toners I haven't heard of. The LaRoche-Posay sounds ideal for my blemished skin!

  5. Sweet picture:) I love the Clinique clarifying toner! I found it to be super gentle as well. Another one that I really like is the Elleroi Green Tea Moist balance one - I think its a korean brand if Im not mistaken and it works really well too! HowDoesDeeDoit

  6. Hey Divya! You could, but the Clinique ones actually have different types of their Clarifying Lotion for different skintypes. There's 'Mild' or just '1', both of which are for very dry-dry skin, or the '2' one is for dry-combination, so perhaps you could try either of those out? :)

  7. Hi Sheri, thanks so much for following! The La Roche Posay does wonders whenever a couple blemishes pop up, god bless salicylic acid! :)

  8. Definitely, even a simple rosewater one if your skin is normal is really lovely :)

  9. To be honest not too many of their products work for me (that I've tried, at least), but this one is definitely a keeper!

  10. Thank you :) I really love it, and I love that there's different ones depending on your skintype. That one sounds lovely too, I haven't tried too much with green tea in.

  13. If you can get on Escentual they occasionally do a 1/3 off French skincare, so it'd be a great chance to try it out :)

  14. Absolutely! I think they get overlooked sometimes for more recent brands, but they do some really lovely products :)

  15. I like the Clinique one too, I use the one for sensitive skin it works so well does the same job as the others but with less alcohol smell :) I used to think toners were a little pointless but I do notice a difference when I skip :) xx
