May Beauty Favourites

I know, I know, everybody says it, but where did May go?! It was definitely the fastest month of the year, I can't believe we're into June already. I had a pretty good beauty month, I discovered some absolute crackers I know I'll be using for months to come, as well as a few products really establishing a firm place in my routine as they work so well.

I've had the L'Oreal True Match Foundation for a couple months now, but I've been using it a lot this month. It's a little lighter than my usual MAC Studio Fix Fluid, which my skin has been liking as the temperatures have been rising slightly. I've seen very mixed reviews on this, but it's a really good match for me and blends so beautifully into my skin with the help of my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush. I've found an incredible moisturiser to go underneath too, in the Korres Wild Rose 24hr Cream. This is actually for dry skin but works so well on me; it feels really hydrating, and leaves my skin feeling really balanced. My make-up seems to go on so much better with this too, I'm buying the full size as soon as my sample runs out.

Soap & Glory make-up has been really impressing me recently, and Archery Brow Pencil is definitely one of my favourites from them. It's double ended with a crayon end to define the sides of the brows and a felt tip end to fill in if there's any spare areas around. It takes a little longer than using a powder like I used to, but the results are so much better and look really natural. I've been using a lot of the same lip products, but I dug out Topshop's Screen Siren which I definitely haven't used as much as I should. It's a lovely red with the slightest pinky undertone, and is a really gorgeous Hollywood glamour shade. I've been wearing it a lot with simple outfits just to add a bit of a classic touch to it. Since buying The Body Shop Aloe Lip care I've been using it everyday, it's such a good lip balm and has been getting rid of every little bit of dryness on my lips.

I've mostly been using the same skincare as last month, but the Jurlique Rose Moisture Plus Range was something new to me. I've fallen in love with the serum*, and it's a daily must-have for me. It's a light, gel consistency meaning it sinks into the skin really quickly but hydrates really well, leaving my skin bright and feeling fresh. I've had the Antipodes Divine Face Oil for a while now, but this month I've got into a routine of using it everyday and I've noticed such a difference. Blemishes are reducing quickly, and my skin looks so much brighter and clearer, it's lovely.

Viktor & Rolf's Flowerbomb is one of my all-time favourites, and I've been using it a lot this month. It has a light floral scent that's a little sweet, but not at all overpowering, so it's perfect for this time of year. It's a pricey one unfortunately so I do try and make it last, but I'm finding that difficult at the moment!

  1. I am in love with your photography Catherine, just gorgeous! We have a joint favourite, the RT brush, it's so lovely. I really need to try True Match, though I've been faithful to Lumi Magique, also from L'Oréal. :) x

I love the L'oreal true match but I don't have the right color for me (it's not even for sale in Holland). But I do like the consistency and the amount of coverage it gives. Can't wait to to go America to get the right color haha!

  6. Jurlique have an online skin consultation process which tries to find the products best for you based on a couple questions they ask, so perhaps try that first? :)
