Au Naturale

Considering I'm normally about the bright lipsticks, blush and eyeliner, this little period is a bit odd for me. But, recently I've been favouring a more natural look; perhaps it's the nicer weather we've had a bit of. I've got a few favourite products that I've been loving using recently to help create this..

Starting off with base, my favourite and most suited to my skintone is MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NW13. This is the perfect shade for me, and gives a medium-heavy coverage without being too much, but covers every little flaw and imperfection. It has a natural, matte finish, and is just one of the best foundations I've tried. There's quite a few blushes I own which give such a pretty, natural flush of colour to the cheeks; My top three are Rimmel Pink Rose, No7 Honey, and Natural Collection Rosey Glow.

Urban Decay's Naked 3 Palette is my go-to palette, and you can create so many looks with this. My favourite is a neutral look with a slight smokiness to it, using some of the darker browns in the corner. I've never done a review of this as I figured everyone is sick of the sight of it, but I only have good things to say, I use it pretty much everyday. I've been using Soap & Glory Thick & Fast Mascara the past week or so and I'm really enjoying it so far. It's not the greatest on lengthening (not with my stubbly lashes, anyway), but the volume and thickness it gives is fantastic, and again it looks so natural.

For lips, there's a couple I've been wearing a lot. My (almost) perfect nude, is No7 Moisture Drench Lipstick in Romantic, which is a light nude with the slightest pink undertone. It's just a lovely everyday colour, and I love the formula of these too, they feel so moisturising on the lips. I've been going for my Korres Rose Lip Butter Stick a lot too, which with one or two little swipes give a really pretty sheer light red colour. I love the Korres lip butters, I really need to pick up a couple more shades.

  1. I really love the natural look at the moment too, I agree that it's probably the weather - apart from all the rain in the past week!
What are the pigmentation of the natural collection blushes like?
I've never tried any of them because I heard such mixed things about their eyeshadows.

I always find the nicer weather calls for more natural makeup. Can't ever go wrong with the Naked palette though! I still use it when I'm wearing more heavy makeup!

  9. Naked3 is such a beautiful palette, I'm so glad I bought it and don't know why I held off for so long. I tend to go for the shimmery shades over the lid though, but I do also love the mattes :)

  12. Absolutely! The natural look is definitely a bit of a change for me though, I'm usually all about the bright, bold lipsticks :)

  19. Really good! The blushes are definitely one of the best from their range. Obviously staying power isn't fantastic but for £1.99 they're definitely worth giving a go :)
