Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipsticks

I tried, I really did, but after a couple weeks of indecision, two of the new Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet lipsticks finally became mine. Lord knows I don't need any more lip products, but me and matte lips are having a bit of a thing at the moment, and seeing this new release from Bourjois, who seem to do no wrong, I knew I'd eventually cave and try them out. I picked up a pretty peach, Peach Club, and a vibrant fuschia, Ole Flamingo, just in time for the sunshine.

Wearing 05. Ole Flamingo!
Wearing 04. Peach Club.

They come in little lipgloss style tubes, and apply with a doe foot applicator creating a smooth colour all over the lips. They're incredibly creamy, feeling quite similar to the Collection Cream Puffs (if anyone remembers those!) leaving a satin finish on the lips until around twenty minutes after application when it dries to a matte.

A lot of the 'liquid lipsticks' look a little uncomfortable and drying, but these are perfect, they don't highlight any imperfections and I honestly can't even tell I'm wearing anything on my lips at all. They claim the lasting time is 24 hours, which I'm not really sure about, but they do have fantastic lasting powder! A meal, a few drinks and several hours later and only the slightest touch up was required. Peach club is a little more coral-orange toned than I would have liked, but still beautiful, and Ole Flamingo is an absolutely gorgeous bold, deep fuschia.

I am so, so impressed with these, it's taking me a lot of willpower not to hop into Boots and buy the rest. If you've not tested these out yet, what are you waiting for? Long lasting matte lips are just around the corner.

  5. I really like the look of these but I don't think any of the colours would suit me! I wish they had a nice light pink, I would be all over that haha

  6. Gorgeous shades! Ole Flamingo is my kind of color and it looks so amazing on you! I'd love to try these out!

  7. Ole Flamingo was the one I just picked up on a whim but it's by far my favourite of the two, such a gorgeous colour!

  8. Owwh, that's a shame! I think there is a shade called 'Nude-ist' which looks like a pretty deep nudey-pink :)

  19. Peach Club is gorgeous on you! I have very recently tried the Rimmel Apocalips and whilst I think they are really nice in terms of pigmentation and lasting power I can feel it on. I've only tried it once so I'm going to give it another try, these however do sound superior.

  20. I'm desperately trying to resist Ole Flamingo! Luckily they haven't popped up in any of my local Boots stores yet (I believe there's another 2 days before they hit stores) but once they do I don't know how long I'll be able to resist.

  21. Yep, I think these are better, the Apocalips are really just a highly pigmented gloss which means they never really dry and you can always feel them on the lips. After these dry though they're really undetectable and give a gorgeous matte colour all day! I'd definitely recommend them over the Rimmel ones. xo
