I've been revisiting a couple of old favourites recently, as well as trying out some gorgeous new products thanks to Christmas presents and the many samples I got in my advent calendar this year. My skin has been acting up a little bit and I got a bit stuck in a rut with make-up, so I've needed some good skincare basics and bright lipsticks to pull me out of it!

First product is the Lush Tea Tree Water, an old friend I always have at least a little bottle of just in case. It's been neglected a bit recently as I do sometimes think your skin can get too used to a certain product and it needs a bit of a shake-up, so I left out this as well as the Caudalie Beauty Elixir. I've been using it after a particularly bad break-up and it's really helped reduce the redness and swollen cystic blemishes covering my chin. It's back to being a daily essential for me now. I've also been testing out is the Trilogy Rosepene Night Cream which I've really been enjoying. I've heard a lot about the Trilogy oils, but not so much this. It leaves my skin looking really bright the morning after, sinks in nicely and just feels lovely to use.

I go through love affairs on and off with pink, but it's firmly on at the moment! One of my favourite pink lipsticks is MAC Speak Louder is a gorgeous blue toned pink that isn't too in your face, and can be worn alone for a day time look or dressed up for an evening look too. MAC lipsticks are more on the pricey side but do have a great formula and are nice for a little occasional treat!

Last of all is definitely something I'm a bit behind the times on, but oh well! Benefit's They're Real has been raved about by so many, and it definitely lives up to the hype! It creates gorgeously long lashes with great volume without clumping, and really gets every lash coated. It's the best mascara I've ever used, but I'm really not looking forward to when it runs out, I don't think I could bring myself to spend £20 on a mascara, so it might be back to my high street ways for me.

What are your current loves? Have you tried any of these?

  3. I think I need some of the trilogy cream after looking at my skin lately. So dull!

  4. Benefit's They're Real is one of my favourite mascaras but like you, I don't like to spend too much when I know there are high street ones that are just as good! I also love the look of that lipstick! x

  5. I really like Benefit's They're Real as well but it can get slightly clumpy when built up I've noticed (only when nearing about three coats--I wanted to see how many I could get out of it haha). But overall it really is a wonderful mascara!
