2014 BEAUTY RESOLUTIONS

As well as my normal resolutions, I've told myself I need to make some beauty ones this year too. I'm sure we're all guilty of sometimes being a little lazy with our beauty routines, and then we're suddenly surprised when we wake up with a couple new blemishes after we've slept in make-up, or our hair doesn't look great when we've neglected all the hair masks sat in the bathroom. No, just me? Oh..

01. Wash my brushes more. I am pretty awful at this, even though everytime I wash them I see my make-up apply so much better. I know I should wash them every few days, but it's more like once every fortnight which is awful I know! I really need to remember to do this more before bed.

02. Step away from the scissors! I need to visit a hairdresser more often. I snip at my own fringe and then end up unhappy with it most of the time. I don't have any excuses as my boyfriend's sister is a hairdresser and only lives a five minute walk away, but I suppose I feel bad asking when she has a little girl to look after. I also need to get my hair more regularly cut, instead of the 1-2 times a year I get an inch chopped off.

03. Moisture more. Another example to stupid laziness, a serious lack of body moisurizing after I've had a bath or shower. I have a drawer full of body butters and lotions, but probably only use them about once a week. Must. do. better!

04. Use face masks more. I go through stages of using a couple masks at least once a week, and then I'll go a few weeks without using any. Everytime I use one again I immediately notice a difference in my skin, so I'm going to implement a proper face mask routine for at least once a week.

Have you made any beauty resolutions this year?

  1. I'm pretty good on washing makeup brushes, I do them everynight which is a chore but I always get blemishes if I don't wash them, my skin is very prone which is a pain. I'm also lazy moisturising my bod! As soon as I get out the bath/shower all I want to do is get some clothes on haha, especially in this weather! I need to invest in a good face mask too, if you have any recommendations please post about them, would be a good read!

  3. I couldn't agree with 1 and 2 more! I went to the hairdressers twice in 2013 and that's good for me, it's a combination of laziness and the fact I ALWAYS hate my hair when they do it. I always cut my own fringe too and then just leave it to grow out instead of maintaining it... maybe my resolution should be to look after my hair more haha!

  4. I really need to wash my brushes more too! I think I'm going to try and set aside a day every week to do it... I say 'try'

  5. These are all great ideas! Mine include making sure I remember to take off my makeup before bed, and to stop buying so many products! I have so much of everything, I do not need more! x

  7. I am so lazy when it comes to face masks. I have good intentions when I buy them but they end up getting over looked. I certainly need to use them more
