I should probably warn you, this is going to be a long-un! I tried my best to keep to five favourites for each little category, but several spilled over because it's just too hard to keep some of them out! Some of these actually appeared in my 2012 favourites too, but that should just tell you how much I really do love them. So without further ado..

I probably fell in love with skincare more than ever this year. I tried to buy some higher end products to help keep my pesky spots at bay, and for the most part they've served me extremely well. The Caudalie Gentle Cleansing Milk and Superfacialist Vitamin C cleansing oil have really transformed the way I remove my make-up, and for the better. Toners have been running my life, with my favourites being La Roche Posay Effaclar lotion, the closest I've got to an exfoliating toner, and the Botanics Rosewater Toning Spritz, a great all-rounder that's so refreshing to use, morning or night.

REN Clearcalm 3 night serum along with Botanics Organic Facial Oil have been a wonder duo for me, not only helping to keep my skin mostly clear of spots, but really helping to reduce the pesky under the skin ones I've been blighted with this year. My favourite mask of the year is the Superfacialist Tea Flower pore mask, which I think is one of the best on the high street for oily spot prone skin.

It's been an odd year for haircare, as like usual, I haven't majorly fallen in love with a lot. The best of the bunch is the Dove Nourishing Oil Care Leave-in Spray, which I now use religiously along with the Avon Advance Techniques Argan oil, both have left my usually frizzy hair smooth and my dry ends feeling nourished. The Body Shop Banana duo have been used a lot recently, and give my hair a shine like never before, but honourable mention has to go to the L'Oreal Everiche range as I've loved using the shampoo, conditioner and masks from them. Before I discovered the BS Banana range, my go to product for shine was the Kerastase Chroma Crystal Shine Perfecting Mist.

Not a lot changed for me make-up wise this year, although I did find a few products that I now use pretty much every day, or at least have to stop myself from doing so! Most of the year I used the Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation, but in October I treated myself to the MAC Studio Fix Fluid which probably has to be the best foundation I've tried in terms of colour match, coverage and longevity. I've also missed out the Clarins Instant Smooth primer here (silly me forgot to photograph it), but that has been so important in keeping my make-up lasting longer too and I wouldn't be without it now.

My lips have been loving coral and peachy shades as always, with Revlon Lip Butter in Tutti Frutti and MAC Vegas Volt being my biggest hits of the year. For eyes I haven't been without Supercat eyeliner by Soap & Glory, which makes application so much quicker and easier. I've only just got Benefit's They're Real for Christmas, but it's by far the best mascara I've used this year, so had to be included! Bourjois really had a fantastic year for me, and I love the Java Rice Powder and the cream blushes, both of which I use pretty much everyday now.

The Real Techniques brushes have been a must have for me for over a year now, but I introduced the Expert Face Brush to my collection in summer which is fantastic for foundation or any cream products. Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel is my all time favourite perfume, but two I really loved this year are Marc Jacob's Daisy and Prada Candy. I still haven't found a body lotion I prefer the scent and results of than the Righteous Butter, which I've used most of the year. I continued my love of lip balm all year round, and mostly love ones by the Body Shop, but the Korres Lip Butter in Pomegranate is almost empty, so must have been one of my favourites!

Sadly, I think I've fallen a little bit out of love with nails since 2012. I stuck to a few colours all year round and didn't experiment as much as I'd have liked to really. In summer I really loved the Barry M Gelly polishes, my favourite shades being Prickly Pear and Papaya. Of course I couldn't resist a good novelty product in the Models Own scented polishes, although the formula of these are pretty terrible without a good topcoat, I guess I can forgive them as they do make my fingers smell like apples and strawberries. Ciate My Fair Lady is still my favourite polish, although I'm almost all out and it's been discontinued.

I finally got the Bourjois Magic Nail Polish Remover which is just as good as they say, and definitely worth the slightly inflated price tag for convenience alone. I also stuck with my trusty Soap & Glory Hand Food for leaving my hand and nails feeling nourished, I find myself with little bottles stashed all around the house now.

Well, that's it! Congratulations if you're still here reading, I did say it was going to be a long one. I found some truly wonderful products in 2013, some that I know I'll be sticking with for a very long time. If you've done one of these posts, please leave it below, I'd love to find some new products to try for 2014!

  6. There were so many good product releases last year, the Revlon Lip butters were my favourites in 2012 and I would have put them in my 2013 favourites if I hadn't made myself stick to ten products.
